I was hoping to get my hands on an FX optic to do some lab testing but we don't have any. Here is what I would do.
Insert optics and connect two together on the switch. Then get the following output:
confirm the hardware is seen:
show chassis pic fpc-slot 0 pic-slot 1
show chassis hardware models
Confirm the light:
show interface diagnostics optics PORT (both)
Confirm interface status:
show interface extensive PORT (both)
Then if all links are up and good we can move on to the configuration settings. Just looking to confirm good light and link up status here.
