I know this has been discussed many times, but I am having to connect two Juniper EX4500 VC with two Cisco Nexus 5K VPC together and I need to make sure that the Juniper EX4500's play nicely and don't mess up with the Nexus 5K.
I've read different versions of the way to configure STP and I've came across two versions. I would like to know which applies to my case if anybody cares to answer me.
Option 1 -- "run only vstp"
- delete protocols rstp
- set protocols vstp vlan all
- set protocols vstp vlan all bridge-priority XXXXX (higher than the Cisco Nexus 5K)
Option 2 -- "run vstp on all VLANs and rstp on the native-vlan"
- set protocols vstp vlan all
- set protocols vstp vlan all bridge-priority XXXXX (higher than the Cisco Nexus 5K)
- set interface ae0 unit 0 family ethernet-switching vlan members [ 2 3 4 5 ]
- set interface ae0 unit 0 family ethernet-switching port-mode trunk native-vlan-id 1
Which one is correct?
