Strangely enough the above config started working. I did remove the interfaces from the rstp. For some reason it must be an arp issue. Pings and traffic flow between switches now. The above config works. I did add the flowing to make sure CDP works and it does.
layer2-control {
mac-rewrite {
interface ge-0/1/2 {
protocol {
cdp;
}
}
}
}
Following command is enough for outgoing shaping
set class-of-service interfaces ge-0/0/1 shaping-rate 60m
Hi,
thats what i configured and still it doesent work.
any other idea?
Hello,
Every few seconds the syslog reports the following:
Is this a cause for concern?
Please advice, thanks!

If you want to clear you can upgrade to a resolved release:

friends??
Verify if shaping is applied by running:
show class-of-service interface <int>
Generate excessive traffic and check
show interfaces <int> statistics
Should show that shaping is indeed hapening.
If for some reason that doean't work you may try this:
set class-of-service schedulers sched-queue-shap-60m shaping-rate 60m set class-of-service scheduler-maps sched-map-be-60m forwarding-class best-effort scheduler sched-queue-shap-60m set class-of-service interfaces <int> scheduler-map sched-map-be-60m

Im new to the junos systems but when i log on to jweb to manage the switch i get a message sayaing to update to jweb 15.1a3.
I clicked the update button and nothing happens so i just go around it and theres hardly any options on the configuration page.
Am i doing something wrong or is it supposed to be minimum configurations on jweb.
Thanks
Hello Rushi,
'set system tracing destination-override syslog host x.x.x.x': Will this command cause the device to stop the trace output to the local file in the device and just send the trace to ONLY the remote syslog server?
I have the same problem with a very similar df output. Any other ideas? I just upgraded to 15.1.

Hello there,
I have been doing some research based on our current requirement.
We need to install a 40G line card on the existing EX 9200 core switch. Below are my findings:
According to the Juniper documents:
Problem report - PR1068396
Technical Bulletin - TSB16659 says that the bug is fixed in Junos OS Release 14.2R2-S2 and all later releases.
Source - https://kb.juniper.net/InfoCenter/index?page=content&id=S:TSB16659
Source - https://kb.juniper.net/InfoCenter/index?page=content&id=KB21476&actp=METADATA#ex_series
Now it’s up to us whether we need to upgrade it to the recommended release or just install the line card directly without any upgrade.
Any suggestions/comments/recommendations if the firmware needs to be upgraded or not based on your experiences will be greatly appreciated.
Support for 14.2 ended two weeks ago (https://www.juniper.net/support/eol/junos.html) so if this equipment is critical I would upgrade after a confg review against known issues and behavior changes in the new version.
Hi snp and J-NET members.
I informed my Juniper SE about issue (PFE image being RE image in reality) and asked him where to report issue. He asked internally. Let's see if there will be some answer.
The vQFX10K 18.1R1 is not published on Vagrant cloud yet (17.4R1 is latest there - version 0.3).

Hello,
I am trying to get into a 4 switch virtual chassis system that I've taken over that had no documentation. I'm not totally familar with Juniper switches so I'm likely missing something. I've tried the Virtual Chassis reset process. in that link but when I restarted the switch that I believed to be the master after all the others were turned off it booted saying that it's not the master.
Any assistance would be welcome as at this point I'm not sure what to do. I would like to keep the configurations on the devices, but if there is no other option then so be it.
Thanks
OK I see now. To download the correct J-web app (jweb-ex-app-15.1A3-signed.tgz), it is on a different page.
1. Go to https://www.juniper.net/support/downloads/?p=jweb
2. Select ver 15.1.
3. Download jweb-ex-app-15.1A3-signed.tgz
This file is different to jweb-15.1R4.6-signed.tgz
For more information see:
For Junos OS Release 14.1X53-D10 and later, the J-Web interface is available in two packages:
One more thing, I did not need a support contract to download J-web. However I did need to request access via JTAC by raising a Admin Service Request (License) request.
It would require a restart to reset the password. First save the configuration to a remote system. Then schedule some downtime. Log into the the master RE at the CONSOLE! and reboot (request system reboot). Then place your finger on the space bar and look for this line:
Hit the spacebar when you you see it.
1.“Loading /boot/defaults/loader.conf” then
2.Enter recovery when prompted to go into recovery mode
/bin/sh: recovery
3.Enter “edit” >Set root password
set system root-authentication plain-text-password
4.Commit the change and exit configuration mode—reboot
